DPS-Modern Indian School debaters participated in the Qatar Preparatory School Debate League for Girls recently organised online by Qatar Debate and won top positions.
Team-1 consisting of Asin Ashraf, Vaidehi Rogiye and Amishi Negi bagged the top place followed by Team-2 with Antara Alurkar, Geetika Yalamanchili and Drishti Tibrewal in the second place and the team of Gargee Kanade, Manjushree Magesh and Anah Merchant secured the fifth place.
In the individual category, nine out of 10 debaters earned their place among the top 10 best speakers. Amishi Negi won the first place followed by Anah Merchant in the second place. Drishti Tibrewal, Asin Ashraf and Vaidehi Rogiye shared the third place and Antara Alurkar, Manjushree Magesh, Geetika Yalamanchili and Gargee Kanade tied for the seventh place.
DPS-MIS debaters competed against 107 debaters from different schools in three rounds. The swing debaters, Sansriti, Sharvi, Ishita and Izma also gained in-depth knowledge about implementation of the fundamentals of debating.
This tournament opened doors of new opportunities for the debaters and helped them work in team spirit, analyse different issues and structure their argumentation and refutation effectively.
