The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a traffic diversion, over 400m, at the Islamic Museum Intersection on Corniche Street from December 4 for 10 months.
During the diversion, traffic at the intersection will be diverted to a parallel road consisting of three lanes in both directions, while the traffic signals will be "cancelled", Ashghal has said in a statement.
The diversion, which will be carried out in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, has been announced to facilitate the implementation of infrastructure development and beautification works on the Corniche as part of the development and beautification project in downtown Doha - Package 2.
During the diversion period, commuters heading towards Jabor bin Mohamed Street from Sharg Intersection (Ras Abu Aboud Bridge) and from the Museum of Islamic Art, will have to go ahead and make a U-turn from the next intersection to reach their destinations, Ashghal has explained.
The authority will instal road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure, and has requested all to follow them and abide by the speed limit to ensure everyone's safety.
