The Speaker of the House of Elders of the National Assembly of Afghanistan Fazil Hadi Muslim has welcomed the announcement of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on holding the Shura Council elections in Oct 2021.
He said that this step indicates the keen attention to the opinion of the Qatari people and to their participation in the prosperity of their country and in securing the future of their state.
He extended congratulations to the Qatari people on this matter and voiced optimism over the step, wishing Qatar a bright future and more success.
This came during the meeting of the Speaker of Afghanistan's House of Elders with Qatar's ambassador to Afghanistan Saeed bin Mubarak al-Khayarin.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral co-operation and matters of mutual interest. Fazil Hadi Muslim thanked Qatar for hosting the intra-Afghan talks, and for its efforts to bring about lasting peace in Afghanistan and to end the war and violence in the country, while reiterating appreciation for these efforts.
