Spain's ambassador to Qatar Belen Alfaro has affirmed that the bilateral relations between Qatar and Spain are firm and strong, praising the deep and developed relations between the two countries as many agreements in different fields are due in the future.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) ahead of the Qatar National Day, she hailed the measures adopted by Qatar to protect the community and to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, adding that Qatar is one of the world's least affected countries, thanks to the robust health sector and the solid health measures that have been implemented in Qatar to fight against this disease.
The ambassador added that huge work has been made in the preparations and infrastructure works for the FIFA World Cup 2022, pointing out that many Spaniards working in Qatar are contributing to the success of Qatari efforts to organise a unique edition of the World Cup.
She noted that Spain is an attractive destination for investments, since it is the natural gateway to Europe, the Mediterranean and Latin America, and the Spanish Arab heritage creates many natural bonds between the two countries. In this field, the fascinating exhibition, "Spanish artists in Doha" was held at the Katara Cultural Village in 2020.
Concluding her statement, she extended congratulations and warmest greetings to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the government and the people of Qatar on the occasion of Qatar National Day.
