A number of editors-in-chief of Qatari newspapers and media professionals visited the Qatar Press Center to review the progress in terms of equipment for the headquarters and the preparations for the next phase.
Saad al-Rumaihi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the centre, said that 85% of the work has been completed, indicating that the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted the work and prevented completion of the project according to the scheduled plan.
Al-Rumaihi said the centre includes four halls which can accommodate a number of events related to the centre's activity, in addition to offices and spaces that will be used according to the necessary activities.
He pointed out that the centre includes a main hall for meetings, a conference hall and a room dedicated to media institutions to hold seminars and workshops.
He said: “The centre’s doors are open to all (mediapersons), it is their home and their headquarters.” He expressed confidence that the members of the press community in the country will support the activities of the center for its official launch.
