Arrivals into Doha on flights from the UK, Denmark, Netherlands and South Africa must have a reservation for a UK, DK, NL or ZA Exclusive Quarantine Hotel, according to information on Discover Qatar website.
"You will not be permitted to board the aircraft without a UK, DK, NL or ZA Exclusive Quarantine Hotel Voucher if your booking was made on or after December 23, 2020," it was explained.
"Pre-approved QID resident permit holders are able to apply to travel to Qatar. You will need to obtain approval to enter Qatar by applying through the Qatar Portal. Applications for a QID return visa are now open.
"The 7 night self-funded quarantine packages are available in Intercontinental Doha Resort (5*) or Mercure Grand Doha (4*) for all passengers arriving on flights originating from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands and Denmark with bookings made before 13.00 local time on December 22."
The details on Discover Qatar website are as follows: "If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving before 6am local time on 23 December, your reservation will be automatically transferred upon arrival.
"If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving after 6am local time on 23 December, you will need to contact us before departure to change your hotel. You will receive a new UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel voucher. You will need to present this voucher to be permitted to board your flight.
"For arrivals up to 6am on 23 December any differences in the cost of your original quarantine hotel will be eligible for a refund claim. After 6am local time on 23 December you will be required to pay any additional costs between your original hotel booked and either of the mandatory UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotels, if there is a price difference. Equally you will be eligible to claim for a refund if your original quarantine booking was more expensive than the options available.
"All new bookings made on or after 13.00 local time 22 December will be required to book a UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel Quarantine hotel for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar.
"All new bookings from 13.00 local time 22 December will be required to present a UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel Quarantine hotel voucher to be permitted to board a flight departing from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark.
"Any bookings made on or after 13.00 local time 22 December not in a UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel for a flight originating in the UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark will be cancelled at 100% cancellation fee.
"If you are not on a flight from the UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark you should not book a UK, South Africa, Netherlands or Denmark Quarantine hotel for your mandatory quarantine stay in Qatar; you will not be permitted to check in unless your boarding pass states your journey commenced in the UK, and you will not be entitled to a refund."
