The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will start implementing the 'Qatar Schools PPP Development Programme – Package 1' by the beginning of 2021.
While talking to Al Rayyan TV, Ashghal's Project Affairs director engineer Yousef al-Emadi said eight school buildings will be constructed over three years.
Land plots have already been identified. Of the eight schools, four will be located in north of Doha at Umm Slal and the remaining four in the south of Doha at Wakra/Wukair areas. All schools will be developed simultaneously.
While highlighting Ashgal’s contributions in the health sector, engineer al-Emadi said five health centres are currently being developed at Al Khor, Al Sadd, Ain Khaled, Al Wakra and Al Mashaf. They will be handed over to the Ministry of Public Health next year.

Ashghal, according to him, has made great strides in developing highways and main roads in the country by completing 98% of the main roads, including those serving the FIFA 2022 World Cup stadiums. As much as 828km roads including the first part of the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor have been completed, he added.
