An extraordinary joint campaign to remove abandoned vehicles was launched Sunday at Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality to enforce the stipulations of Law no 18 for 2017 on Public Hygiene.
The campaign is carried out by the Joint Committee to remove Abandoned Vehicles, the Mechanical Equipment Department, and the Public Hygiene Department in co-operation with the Al Khor and Al Thakhira.
Talal Khalaf al-Ruwaili, acting head of the General Control Section at the Municipality, took part in the campaign alongside a number of a number of personnel from the Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya), the Traffic department and patrols, municipality employees and representatives of the participating entities.
Al-Ruwaili pointed out that the fortnight-long campaign targets all the areas within the jurisdiction of Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality to remove all abandoned vehicles and equipment.
The campaign which started at Al Khor City, would subsequently cover other areas across the whole municipality. The official stressed that a good number of people has responded positively to the related awareness efforts and removed their abandoned vehicles and settled their situation accordingly.
