The Russian Ministry of Health announced that a third vaccine against Covid-19, labelled CoviVac.
The CoviVac vaccine against the novel coronavirus infection has demonstrated its efficacy and safety during clinical trials, Russian Healthcare Minister Mikhail Murashko told journalists.
Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the vaccine was officially registered. According to him, the first 120,000 doses of CoviVac will enter civilian circulation in the middle of March, (TASS) news agency said.
"The Russian Healthcare Ministry made a decision to register the third Russian CoviVac vaccine developed by the Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immune and Biological Products. During clinical trials on volunteers the vaccine demonstrated safety and efficacy. Its large-scale studies will continue during the post-registration phase," the minister said.
