Students of Loyola International School recently participated in the annual Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) General Knowledge Olympiad Examination and performed "exceedingly well", the school said.
The examination was held online this year for students across the globe.
SOF is an educational organisation popularising academic competition and assisting the development of a competitive spirit among schoolchildren.
It was established by leading academicians, scientists and media personalities and has been striving from many years to promote a scientific attitude that involves school students across the globe.
Of the many thousands of school students who took the test this year, several students of Loyola performed "exceptionally well", securing cash prizes and medals of excellence and distinction, according to a press statement.
Keerthi Saisha of Grade I D outshone her peers and won the Zonal Silver Medal and a gift of INR1,000.
Jessica Meeka of Grade VI C and Rudra Jigar of Grade II were awarded a gift of INR500 and a Medal of Distinction.
Gold Medals of Excellence were secured by Ben Goldly, I C; Ekansh Zanwar, I A; Suhani Sameer, II A; Soham Samal, II B; Sheza Fathima, IIIB; Jane Jennica, IV B; Harshith Naidu, IV A; Hiba Ansari, IV A; and Jagan Binu Sadev, V A.
Medals of Distinction were secured by H Deepti, I G; Anupriya Saravanan, III C; and Ryan Jacob of Grade VI C.
Principal P K V Prasad and vice-principal Mou Bera congratulated the students for their outstanding performance in the global examination and thanked the parents for their continued support.
"Loyola continues to inspire students to excel in all aspects of education by providing them with opportunities for academic excellence and sharpening their soft skills with various co-scholastic activities that help them to improve holistically," the statement added.
