The Government Communications Office (GCO) has reiterated the importance of following all the necessary guidelines while undergoing home quarantine to avoid the spread of Covid-19.
"It is vital to home quarantine correctly when returning from travels or if you are at risk of having been exposed to Covid-19. To protect yourself, your family and your community, follow these precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus," the GCO said in a tweet.
An accompanying awareness video highlights the guidelines for home quarantine.
"When returning from a Green List country or isolating following exposure to Covid-19, ensure you are undergoing home quarantine correctly, as this limits the spread of Covid-19," a message in the video says.
Even if those undergoing home quarantine do not feel any symptoms, they should reside in a separate, ventilated room and avoid sharing public spaces at home. They also need to refrain from receiving visitors and should not share household items and not leave the house.
Also, they should put plastic bags inside trashcans and close them tightly before disposing of them, the advisory states.
"Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds," it continues. "Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, throwing away used tissues in a lined trash can."
"If you start to feel flu-like symptoms, including coughing, fever or shortness of breath, call 16000," the advisory adds.
