Twelve different species of turf are being tested at the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC)'s nursery in order to find the perfect grade for stadiums and training sites during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the SC has said.

Located in Umm Slal, the nursery features 60 different types of trees and shrubs originating from Qatar, Thailand and Spain. "Spanning an area of 880,000sqm, the SC Tree & Turf Nursery makes use of trees recycled from different parts of Qatar and donations from local residents to supply Qatar 2022 sites, including stadiums, precincts and training sites," the SC tweeted Sunday. "In line with our commitment to deliver a sustainable tournament, the nursery’s irrigation trial area uses recycled water from the nearby Doha North Sewage Treatment Works Plant."
