The competent authorities referred 495 people to the Public Prosecution for violating the precautionary and preventive measures enforced by the country to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Of them, 471 people were referred to the prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory, while nine were found violating the rule limiting the number of people allowed in a vehicle.
According to the rule, a maximum of four people, including the driver, are allowed in a vehicle except when the occupants are members of the same family.
Also, seven people were referred to the Public Prosecution for not maintaining a safe physical distance and eight others for not installing the Ehteraz app on their mobile phones.
The measure is in line with a Cabinet decision and Decree Law No 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of Covid-19. The authorities have called on the public to adhere to the Covid-19 precautionary measures for their safety and that of others.
