Any child up to the age of 16 years, and arriving in Qatar from a red zone country, will be exempted from hotel quarantine if accompanied by a parent who has received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in line with the protocol announced earlier, according to information available on the Discover Qatar website on Sunday.
The child, however, will be required to quarantine at home for seven days, Discover Qatar in Partnership with Qatar Airways Holidays has said, as mentioned on the website.
As announced earlier, people aged 18 years or above and who have received both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from a medical facility in Qatar, with the second dose administered at least 14 days before the date of entry into the country, are exempted from quarantine.
For parents travelling with a minor aged 16-18 years where the minor has not received the vaccine in line with the above qualifications, they will need to book a Welcome Home Package and follow the same conditions outlined on the website, "regardless if the parent has received the vaccinations or otherwise".
Quarantine requirements are determined by the country from where the flight departs . The list is available on the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) website at https://covid19.moph.gov.qa/EN/Pages/Countries-Classified-Low-Risk-of-COVID-19.aspx
The MoPH had also recently reiterated that those who have received the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine from Qatar can travel out of the country immediately and return without being quarantined, provided they arrive after 14 days.
Meanwhile, the Discover Qatar website says once a booking is confirmed, amendments to quarantine hotel packages cannot be made. Once a person has made a booking, it is non-refundable and the dates cannot be amended, except under certain conditions. "Please, therefore, do not book your quarantine package until you are sure that the details are correct," it advises.
The following exceptions to the above now apply, according to the website: "if all members of the booking of ages 18 years or over have received both doses of a vaccine from a medical facility in Qatar, with the second vaccine having been received at least 14 days before the date of the return flight to Doha, a full refund will be issued if Discover Qatar receives a notification no less than 48 hours before the quarantine booking is due for check-in".
Refunds can take up to 60 days. Cancellation charges will apply if a notification is received within 48 hours of the quarantine booking.
