The Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI)'s proposal to form a committee to prepare for Qatar's participation in the Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan. This came at the Cabinet's regular meeting chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday. Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued a statement giving the details of the proceedings.
After that, the cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First, take the necessary measures to issue a draft law regarding endowment, after the cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council in this regard. The draft law is being prepared to replace Law No. 8 of 1996 on endowment, and comes in the framework of updating legislation to keep pace with developments in this regard.
The draft law includes provisions relating to the establishment of the endowment, its distributions and conditions, the civil endowment, and the supervision of the endowment, its maintenance, architecture and investment.
Second, take the necessary measures to issue a draft law amending some provisions of the companies law No. 11 of 2015, after the cabinet reviewed the recommendation of the Shura Council in this regard.
The cabinet reviewed the results of the 107th session of Economic and Social Council of the Arab League, and took the appropriate decision in this regard.
The Cabinet was Wednesday briefed on the latest developments regarding the steps taken to curb the spread of Covid-19. Accordingly, it affirmed the continued implementation of the Covid-19 precautionary measures in order to combat the pandemic.
