The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs said Monday that the fasting person can take the coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine during the day of Ramadan, as it does not affect the validity of the fasting.
The ministry's Sharia Committee said after examining the issue that it found that the vaccine is taken intramuscularly, and not taken orally and it is not nutritious. Therefore, there is no objection for the fasting person to take the vaccine if needed, the ministry said in a statement.
