Ooredoo has announced that it is the Official Telecommunications Supporter of Qatar Charity (QC)’s new campaign, Winter Caravan.

Winter Caravan is an initiative to help provide essentials, such as shelter, food and warmth, to thousands of refugees in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan. Aid will be provided in convoys, funded by donations.

Supporters can make donations to the campaign via the Qatar Charity website and watch as donations help move each aid convoy forward. The campaign will run in three phases; the Warmth Convoy, Peace Convoy and Mercy Convoy.

Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director of PR, at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting Qatar Charity with this invaluable initiative, as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy. In 2021, nobody should be without shelter, food and warmth, yet we know so many refugees lack even these basic human essentials. We would ask everyone who’s able to donate, even a riyal or two, to do so and help make life a little more bearable in the refugee camps around the region.”

Qatar Charity conveyed its appreciation of the sponsorship provided by Ooredoo to the Winter Caravan campaign, with the director of Public Relations at QC, Jassim al-Emadi, thanking Ooredoo for the support.

He noted that the sponsorship highlights the concern of Qatari national institutions for humanitarian issues, such as the refugee crisis, and added that Qatar Charity welcomes all efforts of institutions in Qatar, such as Ooredoo, to support and sponsor its humanitarian initiatives.
