Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a ‘Humanitarian Leader’s Determination Initiative’ pact with Qilaa Consulting as part of its continuing efforts in training its young Qatari leadership cadres and developing their administrative and professional capabilities.
The agreement was signed by Qatar Charity CEO Yusef bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and chairman of Qilaa Consulting Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Hassan al-Thani.
This initiative aims to develop the skills of young Qatari leaders in the field of charitable and humanitarian action and build humanitarian and community leaders. It targets Qatari cadres working in the humanitarian field to qualify them as humanitarian leaders.
The project will train 40 Qatari youth leaders in the humanitarian field based on a strong foundation of scientific knowledge, QC has said in a statement.
The programme will include presenting and discussing success and failure stories and their causes, in addition to discussing the importance of building a humanitarian leader by teaching the science of leadership. At the end, the trainees will present a practical project to complete the training process.
The Qatari cadres of QC, including the CEO's assistants for various sectors, directors of departments, heads of sections and many employees, will participate in this training programme.
Many Qataris working in the humanitarian and development field will also be selected from outside Qatar Charity to develop their capabilities within this programme.
Al-Kuwari expressed Qatar Charity's keenness in developing the skills of Qatari youth leaders in the field of charitable and
humanitarian work. He said that QC has Qatarised all the leadership positions, which are held by the competent and qualified Qatari cadres, and this initiative comes to strengthen this trend started by Qatar Charity some time ago.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz praised QC's efforts in hiring Qatari youths for its administrative positions, noting that their presence is a great asset to humanitarian action.
The 'Leader’s Determination' initiative is expected to focus on field programs and building qualitative projects through training workshops and brainstorming sessions for young people outside the work environment to present new creative initiatives for humanitarian projects.
CEO's assistant for the Programme and Community Development Sector of Qatar Charity, Faisal bin Rashid al-Fuhaida, said this initiative aims to continue to qualify Qatari youth working in the humanitarian field by developing their skills. He emphasised that this step is part of QC’s social responsibility, as it has been decided to allocate 30% of this initiative to the Qatari community and Qatari leaders working in the humanitarian field.
He added that this step is part of Qatar Charity's keenness to rely on qualified Qatari cadres to assume responsibility and benefit from international expertise to develop their skills.
Fatima Jumah al-Mohannadi, head of Initiatives and Volunteering at QC, explained that the importance of this initiative lies in the exchange of experiences to establish qualified young leaders capable of leading in the humanitarian field. She also emphasised the need to achieve the best intended results of this initiative in pursuit of Qatar National Vision 2030.
