* The festival is rolled out in partnership with Qatar Airways and talabat featuring world-class chefs from Qatar’s top restaurants

Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC) announced its Chefs of Qatar Virtual Food Festival, taking place from April 1 to May 12, in collaboration with talabat and Qatar Airways.

Chefs of Qatar features the masterminds behind Qatar’s best restaurants, with top chefs sharing their stories and signature dishes to bring flavours of the world to your doorstep.

QNTC Secretary General and Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, HE Akbar al-Baker, said: “We are very pleased to bring the first Chefs of Qatar Virtual Food Festival to life. In the absence of in-person festivals and large-scale events, this virtual culinary festival enriches domestic tourism while supporting the F&B sector.

A melting pot of cultures, Qatar’s vibrant food scene reflects this diverse and eclectic range of influences. From sampling cuisine by world-renowned chefs to the chance to win free airline tickets, Chefs of Qatar showcases the best of Qatar.”

Fine dining made affordable:

The festival will allow foodies to ‘travel the world’ from the comfort of their own homes, enabling them to order exclusive 3-course meals including a starter, main and dessert, prepared by world-renowned chefs in Qatar with prices capped at QR200. Twenty-three fine dining restaurants with 19 prominent Qatari and international chefs will be participating in the festival.

Participating Chefs:

Qatar is home to internationally celebrated chefs that represent top hotels and restaurants in the country. The global and local celebrity chefs and their restaurants participating in the festival include: Salvatore Silvestrino, Chef Gina, Vinay Kumar, Mert Duran, Sezar Esper Eliass, Timur Fazilov, Marios Papadopoulos, Steffen Schnetzke, Marc Fery, Kamal Mers, Friedemann Heinrich, Steven Peter, Elias Gemayel, Maroun Gebrael, Hisham al-Brahim and Chaiwat Kawikitpraphat.

In addition, Mondrian’s Chef Timur from Morimoto is collaborating with renowned Qatari chef Hassan al-Ibrahim, Park Hyatt’s Chef Steffen is hosting Noor al-Mazroei, and InterContinental Doha’s Chef Marc is teaming up with Sara al-Sayed, to offer curated menus and cuisines during the festival.

Home delivery:

talabat is the exclusive partner for the Chefs of Qatar festival. In its new Chefs of Qatar collection, the app will host all the participating restaurants and their menus including the 3-course meal curated by their top chef for the festival.

Francisco Miguel de Sousa, managing director of talabat Qatar, said: “We are very happy to host the Chefs of Qatar virtual food festival on talabat. Through this initiative, talabat is proud to contribute to the development of the hospitality sector in Qatar, providing the opportunity to all participating restaurants to run the event virtually through our app and benefit from our logistics capabilities.”

Free Return Tickets:

The festival partner Qatar Airways will be giving away 24 return tickets to any Qatar Airways destination worldwide from Doha throughout the festival. Two winners will be chosen randomly every week to receive two return tickets each. These tickets will be valid for travel for one year. One order from the Chefs of Qatar collection through the talabat app equates to one entry.

Ramadan Give back:

The festival will also provide the patrons an opportunity to care for those in need. Automatically on each order placed from Chefs of Qatar collection, a meal will be donated to charity, so residents can help out by staying in.

Qatar Clean:

QNTC continues to prioritiSe the health and safety of residents, ensuring all restaurants participating in the Chefs of Qatar Virtual Food Festival are Qatar Clean certified. Based on international hygiene and safety standards, the program is in partnership with Ministry of Public Health and is being implemented across hotels and restaurants in the country.
