Qatar Airways has announced its role as Official Airline Sponsor of the first Chefs of Qatar Virtual Food Festival in partnership with the Qatar National Tourism Council (QNTC).
Showcasing the uniqueness of the country’s culinary scene, boasting flavours and talents from all around the world, Chefs of Qatar reflects Qatar Airways’ commitment to boost gastronomic diversity, reflected by the airline’s own on-board culinary offering, which is inspired by the 130 destinations Qatar Airways is currently serving.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, HE Akbar al-Baker, said: “We are pleased to be sponsors and to support QNTC on such a creative initiative that showcases the abundance and the diversity of Qatar’s culinary scene and its leading talents, while in-person festivals and mass events cannot be held in the context of the continued pandemic.”
“With the support of our hotel and restaurant partners, we invite all Qatar residents to seize this unique opportunity to enjoy culinary delights from around the world prepared by Qatar’s top chefs and get a chance to win return tickets for their next journey with Qatar Airways”.
Chefs of Qatar will feature 25 fine dining restaurants as well as global and local celebrity chefs, including Timur Fazilov, Sezar Esper Eliass, Salvatore Silvestrino, Chef Gina, Vinay Kumar, Mert Duran, Steffen Schnetzke, Marc Fery, Friedemann Heinrich, Elias Gemayel, and Chaiwat Kawikitpraphat. All participating chefs have curated special Ramadan menus available between April 1 and May 12, and capped at QR200 per meal, guaranteeing the festival remains affordable and accessible for everyone.
Combining local traditions with a variety of international influences, Chefs of Qatar will also feature three extraordinary co-operation between Qatari and international chefs. Chef Hassan al-Ibrahim, the founder of Qatar Cooking Academy, will collaborate with Mondrian Doha’s Executive Chef for Morimoto, Timur Fazilov; Park Hyatt Chef Steffen Schnetzke will team up with Rosado Café’s founder Noor al-Mazroei, and InterContinental Doha’s chef Marc will work alongside Sara al-Sayed. Special menus, featuring each restaurant’s delicacies with a Qatari twist, will be the major fruit of the unique collaborations, supported by Qatar Airways and QNTC.
As the official sponsor of the Festival, Qatar Airways will make the initiative even more exciting by offering a chance to every diner ordering with Chefs of Qatar to win one of 24 return tickets, giving away two Economy Class return tickets to two winners randomly every week.
Committed to giving back to the community - especially during the auspicious month of Ramadan - Qatar Airways, as well as the Chefs of Qatar partners, and in collaboration with Qatar Charity, will donate a meal on each order placed from the Chefs of Qatar fine dining collection.
Supporting the QNTC initiative, Qatar Airways reaffirms its commitment to give back to the local community and support Qatar’s tourism and hospitality industries during these challenging times, while encouraging Qatar residents to enjoy the best of Qatar from the comfort of their homes.
With plans to expand its network to more than 140 destinations and over 1,200 weekly flights, Qatar Airways leads the recovery of global aviation and provides the most reliable global connectivity with more flights to international destinations than any other airline.
