HE the Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari met Wednesday with a delegation from Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS).
The delegation was chaired by QRCS President HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer al-Thani.
The meeting dealt with reviewing means of enhancing bilateral co-operation in fighting the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), and it discussed joint co-operation in the activities carried out by QRCS in the healthcare field domestically and abroad.
The minister expressed her thanks to QRCS, its leadership and members, for their co-operation with MoPH and Hamad Medical Corp (HMC) to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
She praised QRCS' continued efforts in this regard, with hundreds of volunteers present in quarantine and vaccination facilities.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer al-Thani expressed his appreciation with MoPH's great efforts in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, stressing that the fruitful co-operation between the two sides will continue in light of the rise of a second wave of the pandemic.
He stressed that Qatar Red Crescent Society stands ready to aid all efforts made to contain the pandemic.
Director-General of the Medical Affairs Division at QRCS and head of the medical committee Dr Abdul Salam al-Qahtani said QRCS is implementing a number of medical projects that include operating four healthcare centres dedicated to workers, as well as other programmes related to donating organs and dialysis.
He added that those programmes were in addition to efforts related to combating the Covid-19 pandemic by participating in the management of the quarantine facilities, especially in Mekaines.
