A curriculum programme on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is planned to be launch in MES Indian School.
The STEAM Robotics programme incorporates more hands-on, play way learning experiences and is focused on students’ learning through Al technology and innovation. The pedagogy is tailor-made based on blooms taxonomy and varies with syllabus and age group.
“Our STEAM Robotic education laboratories are new and designed to create an inspirational atmosphere for students to be change-makers, by placing right tools in their hands and tinkering with the robotic kits and STEAM learning models, foster collaboration, enhance learning and engender their creativity and curiosity. Our structured STEAM Robotics curriculum is designed for the annual regular programme which provides lessons for the students from Kindergarten to Grade-IX which is integrated with School ACP,” said MES Principal Hameeda Kadar.
Applied Learning Program is designed to develop hard skills and competencies in students with regard to robotics, coding, design, and computational thinking. This program ensures that the students build required skills and knowledge that will prepare them for a revolutionary world.
“Our skilled facilitators are highly experienced with positive feedback given by teachers and students. Our facilitators aim to build skills and competencies in students and believe that having a hands-on learning experience is a vital aspect of any curriculum. Our educational robotics kits are self-paced experiential learning package, which helps students to learn STEAM concepts in a practical approach. The package will include the kit, projects/ activities guide, and programming software license,” informed chief coordinator MrManmmadhan Mambally.
The school will also introduce new technologies like drones, humanoids, CNC and 3D art and printing to the students. This initiative would enable students to become confident, be life-long learner, promote an iterative process of trial and error, and use socially interactive and open-ended learning to build social, emotional, and creative skills. It will make coding, robotics, and STEAM concepts interesting and fun through active engagement. Students will build various automated working mechanisms using building blocks, program them using compatible software and accomplish the required task using their creation.
