Toastmaster International’s District 116 – Qatar – Area 25 recently conducted a virtual confluence meeting.
Area 25 consists of three diverse clubs.
The Filcom International Toastmasters Club has members from 13 different nationalities.
The Ooredoo Toastmasters Club is a corporate club while the the Hamad Toastmasters Club is an Arabic-speakers club.
Leo Ortega took over the reins as Toastmaster of the day.
Musaab from the Hamad Club, Regina from the Ooredoo Club, and Nadim from Filcom presented their speeches.
Philip Cherian from Filcom, Abdalla Hamadan from the Hamad Club, and Davar from the Ooredoo Club evaluated the speakers respectively.
The occasion also witnessed a keynote session with Dr Yogesh Pawar on the topic of ‘Building a Leadership Culture that Lasts’.
Dr Pawar is one of Asia’s top leadership and business strategy authorities, entrepreneur, author, speaker, and a business school faculty member with clients across the globe.
He is an accredited master coach from American Institute of Business Psychology (AIOBP) and the American Leadership Development Association (ALDA).
After the thought-provoking session, impromptu speeches were delivered.
Mai Abuzaina from the Hamad Club conducted an engaging table topic session, which was evaluated by Shyamsunder from Filcom.
General evaluation session was conducted by Kaiseray Jahan from the Ooredoo Club.
The meeting was supported by the following role players: SAA Aqeel Mohamed, timer Dennis Mujana, grammarian Browlin Raj, and ah counter Rinku Saha.
Deepti Potnis was Zoom meeting host and confluence meeting manager.
Area 25 is led by director Felipe Catinoy. Diana May is the Filcom president and Yoonas C K president of the Ooredoo Club. Mai Abuzaina is president of the Hamad Club.
Regina was awarded the best speaker while Shyamsunder was named best evaluator. Athira was the best table topic speaker and Mai Abuzaina was awarded the best segment host.
