* Ooredoo AlKhair campaign kicks off with Ramadan initiatives
Ooredoo has announced the timely launch of a new CSR umbrella campaign – Ooredoo AlKhair – under which it will devise and undertake a comprehensive raft of charitable initiatives to support Qatar’s community.
The Ooredoo AlKhair campaign includes a number of initiatives with a range of aims, and is kicking off with several community activities in the first days of Ramadan: a delivery of gifts to patients at Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre; the provision of support for the Ehsan Centre for Empowerment and Elderly Care to help them continue their awareness programme; delivery of Eidiya to teams of labourers working in the Souq Waqif area; and delivery of treats in the Bu Sidra quarantine area to help residents celebrate Garangao, the company has said in a statement.
Ooredoo is sponsoring two Qatar Red Crescent Society campaigns: for the holy month, the Khairkum Sabeq Festival - which aims to ensure that everyone has the necessary food provisions this Ramadan, and for the longer term, the new campaign to fundraise and mobilise international support for a vaccination campaign that aims to ensure vaccine equity for vulnerable groups.
The telco leader is also partnering with non-profit organisations Education Above All to help raise awareness and funds for educational projects that promote access to education for all, and Silatech, on its fund-raising campaign titled ‘Spare Them from Asking’, which will support those whose jobs have been lost due to the negative economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director of PR at Ooredoo, said: “We’re proud to launch Ooredoo AlKhair, and to offer our support to so many charitable organisations. We are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate year-round, as a key part of our corporate
social responsibility strategy, but the holy month of Ramadan is a particularly special time of year in this regard and the perfect time in which to launch such a worthwhile campaign.
"We look forward to working with all the organisations in the year to come, and to seeing them make a difference to our communities and our people.”
Ooredoo AlKhair will continue throughout the year, with the campaign being expanded and further developed to include yet more initiatives. Media partner Qommunication will be supporting Ooredoo in promoting and publicising the campaign.
