Qatar Airways invites local students to gain first-hand experiences on flight operations

As part of its ongoing commitment to nurturing a highly skilled Qatari workforce, the national airline recently hosted a pioneering hands-on learning experience for nine 'promising' students.This initiative is part of the airline’s broader strategy to ensure that quality and competent nationals are well-prepared to take on permanent and influential roles within the organisation and the wider aviation industry, a statement said.Qatar Airways said it continues to lead the way in fostering national talents and advancing the Qatar National Vision 2030 through its forward-thinking Nationalisation Al Darb Programme.The 10-day immersive experience, held from August 18 – 29, took place at the Qatar Airways Operations Centre (QROC) within the Flight Operations division.During this period, the selected students were given the opportunity to explore the intricate and dynamic workings of the aviation industry. The rotation provided a comprehensive overview of critical operational areas, enabling the students to gain invaluable insights into various facets of the airline’s operations.Captain Khalid al-Hamadi, senior vice president (Flight Operations) at Qatar Airways said: "This initiative is in perfect alignment with Qatar's Vision 2030, which aims to shape the future leaders of our country. By investing in our national talents today, we are ensuring the sustained growth and leadership of Qatar's aviation sector on the global stage."The Al Darb Programme is designed not only to inspire youth to pursue careers in aviation but also to attract and retain top national talent within Qatar Airways. Through such initiatives, the airline aims to raise awareness among the younger generation about the diverse career opportunities available in the aviation sector.Whether their ambitions lie in becoming pilots, engineers, or any other critical roles within the airline, these students are given a first-hand look at what a future at Qatar Airways could hold.
