Bookings for Welcome Home quarantine packages for people coming from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka have opened on the Discover Qatar website.
All passengers arriving on flights originating from or transiting via the six countries will be required to stay at one of a specified group of hotels, according to information available on the website.
The bookings are available until August 31.
The updated information on hotel quarantine bookings for arrivals from the six 'high-risk' countries comes following Monday's announcement by the Ministry of Public Health that hotel quarantine is mandatory for people coming to Qatar from those places.
With effect from April 26, "all passengers arriving on flights originating from or transiting via Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka, will be required to stay at one of a specified group of hotels, for which you can use the search calendar on this page (https://www.qatarairwaysholidays.com/qa-en/welcome-home-high-risk-arrivals/) to check availability", the website says. "Quarantine will be for a mandated period of 10 days. PCR test taken within 48 hours of the flight departure must be presented at check-in to be able to board your flight.
"There are no exemptions from quarantine for those who have been vaccinated or have previously tested positive."
* For existing bookings arriving on or before April 28, 23:59 Doha local time:
"If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving before April 28, 23:59, from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines or Sri Lanka, your current Discover Qatar voucher is valid for travel. We will advise you of any changes to your booking and quarantine requirement on arrival," the website states.
"You will not be asked to pay any additional costs between your original hotel booked and one of the mandatory Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka Quarantine hotels, if there is a price difference. Equally, you will be eligible to claim for a refund if your original quarantine booking was more expensive than the options available."
* For existing bookings arriving on or after April 29, 00:00 Doha local time:
"If you have already made your hotel reservation in a different hotel, and are arriving after April 29, 00:00 local time Doha, we will contact you before departure to confirm that your original booking is cancelled. You will need to re-book a hotel following the instructions provided in the e-mail," according to Discover Qatar.
"You will be required to pay for your new booking in full. Your original booking will be refunded within 15 working days."
