DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) debaters added a feather in their cap as the Junior Girls team bagged the runner-up trophy in the Qatar Preparatory School Debate Nationals held recently via Zoom.
The DPS-MIS girls’ team comprising Antara Alurkar, Vaidehi Rogiye and Drishti Tibrewal secured the runner-up position in the grand final of the Open category.
Drishti Tibrewal was also declared the best speaker in the open grand finale.
The DPS-MIS girls topped in both the leagues and qualified for the national championship.
In the individual speakers’ open category, Amishi Negi bagged the first place followed by Anah Merchant, second, Vaidehi Rogiye, third, Drishti Tibrewal, fourth with Manjushree Magesh and Antara Alurkar tied for the 10th spot.
Coach Jaya Majumder played a key role in helping the debaters success. All motions were very challenging and helped improve the analytical and critical thinking skills of the debaters.
