The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced that it is taking measures to regulate the work of blacksmithing and carpentry workshops, and warehouses operating inside cities and commercial streets.
The measures are part of the city's efforts to regulate commercial activities in the state in co-operation with the Ministry of Interior, and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.
The ministry said in a statement Wednesday that the aforementioned workshops and warehouses are not allowed to conduct their activities outside the licensed locations, or inside homes. This includes a ban on the use of public parking, pavements, or empty lots and spaces. Storing products and equipment related to the commercial activities in public parking areas, pavement, or any residential units without license is also banned,
The ministry said that any violation of these measures will subject violators to penalties in line with Law No. 5 of 2015, Law No. 18 of 2017, and decree law No. 19 of 2007. The ministry also called on citizens and residents to report any violations via phone on 16001, or through social media on the Twitter handle MOCIQatar, Instagram (MOCIQatar), or the ministry's app MOCI-Qatar.
