Al Sailiya were crowned QFA Cup champions after beating Al Markhiya 1-0 at Hamad Bin Khalifa Stadium. Al Sailiya collected their second title this season after winning the Ooredoo Cup at the expense of Al Rayyan in March.
The first half ended with a goalless draw but Brazilian Bizera scored the game’s only goal in the 74th minute. Al Markhiya – who play in the Second Division – are credited with reaching the final without a loss and after defeating Al Gharafa twice.
Al Sailiya reached the final after beating Al Shamal 4-2 in the quarter-final match. Lusail and Al Waab were the other teams in Al Sailiya’s group. Al Markhiya qualified for the final with a 4-1 win over Mesaimeer. Al Gharafa, Qatar SC and Al Shahaniya were the other teams in Al Markhiya’s group.
The trophy ceremony was held in accordance with the MoPH’s health and safety measures followed by the Qatar Football Association.
