In order to avoid inconvenience on roads, the General Directorate of Traffic has set time for the campers to transport caravans. According to the directions from the directorate, caravans could be transported from the camping sites to there main storage places between 8 am and 4 pm. Assistant director of Traffic Awareness Department at the General Directorate of Traffic Lt Col Jaber Mohamed Odaiba told Qatar TV that this is a suitable time for transporting caravans.
He explained campers have been told to use Al Shamal Road and F Ring Road to transport caravans to there storage places noting that these roads can accommodate large caravans while ensuring safe movement. The Traffic Department official asked the campers to ensure the safety of the trailers while carrying caravans before the tractor process citing that they were parked in the camping site for about six months and it must be ensured that it’s properly maintained. He asked to make sure that the tires are safe and the trailers have validity before transporting them to the roads.
The winter camping season for the year 2020/2021 came to an end on May 21 after witnessing a remarkable decrease in the number of violations and campers were committed to the instructions for protecting the environment and public hygiene as well as to the precautionary measures related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
This season had 31 land and sea areas across the country, and the competent authorities at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) provided all necessary services for campers.
