Al Wakra Hospital's Emergency Department is now open, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced.
"Following the discharge of the last Covid-19 patients at Al Wakra Hospital, the facility is now recommencing normal services," HMC said in a post on Twitter on Wednesday.
With effect from yesterday, the Al Wakra Hospital Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for patients in need of urgent treatment for serious medical conditions.
For urgent but non-life-threatening conditions, patients can call HMC's Urgent Consultation Service at 16000 from 7am to 3pm, seven days a week, or visit one of the eights Urgent Care Centres across Qatar, run by Primary Health Care Corporation, providing care for urgent but non-life-threatening conditions.
On Tuesday, HMC had announced that Al Wakra and Ras Laffan hospitals had discharged their last Covid-19 patients. HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari visited Al Wakra Hospital and met with the senior leadership of both the facilities.
She presented a plaque of appreciation to formally recognise the outstanding work of staff. HE the Minister also met with two recovered Covid-19 patients who had been admitted to Al Wakra Hospital and successfully treated for their symptoms.
