Birla Public School (BPS) Primary-I recently conducted a virtual investiture ceremony to induct student council members for the academic year 2021-22.
All student council members were well prepared to don the mantle of leadership and responsibility.
The ceremony was held with a motto to inculcate leadership qualities in students and help them effectively execute the vision and mission of the school – ‘Loyalty, Truth & Honour.’
Chairman Gope Shahani, director Lukose Chacko, management representative Chindu Anthony Rappai, along with the leadership team graced the occasion virtually.
The proceedings commenced with the school prayer followed by prayers in Arabic.
The national anthems of Qatar and India were played.
Karthik Menon and Arya Lakshmi hosted the programme. Sharmila Mitra, teacher of Primary-I, welcomed the school management committee members, well-wishers, parents and teachers.
Principal A P Sharma narrated a story with a message that all can be a leader and find solution to every problem when the situation demands.
Chacko urged the students to realise the importance of opportunities that come their way and acquire skills that will make them worthy citizens, who are willing to give back not only to their family but also to the society, nation and world at large.
Chindu Antony Rappai thanked the office-bearers of the previous academic year and congratulated the new office-bearers. Rajesh Pillai, vice principal (co-scholastic), appreciated the students for exhibiting their talents in a mature way. Shruti, headmistress, Primary-I, invited the parents to felicitate their children with badges and sashes, as they were sworn in as office-bearers for the academic year 2021-2022. The principal administered the pledge donning the mantle of responsibility.
School sports captain Nehan Shaqueeque, sports vice captain Kanushka Manjunath and office-bearers of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune houses pledged to perform their duties to the best of their abilities, followed by the badging ceremony. The programme proceeded with the oath-taking ceremony by the school sports captain, other office-bearers and house mistresses.
