HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan Wednesday.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie issued a statement.
The statement read: “At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani's speech at the opening session of the Qatar Economic Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, which began on Monday via video conference technology, under the patronage of His Highness the Amir and with the participation of a number of state leaders, heads of government and a global elite that include more than 2,000 chief executives, inspiring personalities and decision-makers in finance, economy, investment, technology, energy, education, sports and climate.”
“The Cabinet affirmed that the Amir's speech, with its important content and insightful vision, clarified to the world the axes of the State of Qatar's successful strategy to confront the dangerous repercussions of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and the requirements of moving beyond the pandemic at the global level,” it continued.
“The Amir's speech also outlined the parameters of Qatar's balanced economic policy during the next phase,” the statement added. “The Cabinet praised the Amir's invitation to world leaders, especially the major industrial countries, for more co-operation within the context of the international system, sharing responsibilities and working together for a just and comprehensive distribution of vaccines to confront Covid-19 in a manner that lays the foundations for building an integrated global social and economic system, in line with the goals of sustainable global development, and achieving goodness and stability.”
The Cabinet considered that the Qatar Economic Forum (QEF), under the theme *New Perspectives for Tomorrow, reaffirms Qatar's position as a pivotal commercial centre for the business sector and its pioneering role in enriching dialogue on the global economy and addressing the challenges it faces.
