Embassy facilitates donation of 100 oxygen cylinders to Sri Lanka

The embassy of Sri Lanka in Doha has facilitated the third air shipment of 100 medical oxygen cylinders, with a capacity of 50 litres each, to the Sri Lankan government, further strengthening its battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The donation was made by well-wishers upon the urgent request made by M Mafaz Mohideen, Sri Lanka's ambassador to Qatar, the embassy said in a post on Facebook on Tuesday.SriLankan Airlines airlifted the consignment on a free-of-charge basis, the embassy added. The consignment of oxygen cylinders was delivered to the Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka, and is expected to be distributed among government hospitals to enhance the capacity of the health sector.The Sri Lankan embassy said it "further wishes to continue this initiative, extending its fullest co-operation to the Sri Lankan government in containing the spread of Covid-19".Earlier, the embassy had facilitated the first and second air shipments of 275 oxygen cylinders, 22 pulse oximeters and 10 oxygen regulators to the Government of Sri Lanka, in view of strengthening the health sector's capacity in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
