A number of Ministry of Interior officials affirmed the ministry's interest in training and for qualification courses to achieve its strategy in building national cadres capable of meeting security requirements, preserving national gains, and responding to future events, foremost of which is securing the 2022 World Cup.
In a press statement on the graduation ceremony of the sixth qualifying course Thursday, they stated that raising the efficiency of human cadre is necessary to achieve the strategy of the Ministry of Interior 2018-2022 with its service and security aspects, and to achieve development goals, aspirations, given that security is an integral part of the development system.
The qualifying course was implemented over a period of five months, with the participation of 64 trainees from several departments in the Ministry of Interior and the Lekhwiya Force.
HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya Force Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal al-Thani said the strategy of the Ministry of Interior gave importance to international changes and the country's preparations to host the 2022 World Cup, and hence it has worked to raise the efficiency and skills of the human cadre in the ministry to be able to face the challenges facing the security system. He also affirmed the ministry's interest in providing security by effectively and flexibly confronting all possibilities arising from challenges and threats in all circumstances, adding that this is what the Police College does when preparing students nominated from high school who are enrolled in it or through the courses for graduates of civil universities.
HE Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal al-Thani, praised the level of performance of the Police College and its staff in achieving the strategy of the Ministry of Interior and building national cadres of officers capable of police work as required by the current circumstances. He also affirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Interior to evaluate procedures and reformulate the security work system on serious and solid foundations, characterised by scientific planning and directing capabilities at the highest rates, establishing an appropriate job environment to achieve security, and providing security services with quality, proficiency and excellence. He pointed out that the ministry, in order to achieve these goals, supports and supplies the Police College with all the necessary requirements that enable it to perform its role in preparing officers and taking care of training at all levels.
HE Adviser to the Minister of Interior and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Police College Major General Dr Abdullah Yousef al-Mal, stated that the effort that the Police College is doing in order to prepare promising generations of officers is commendable, as the college has proven its superior ability to train and prepare its graduates, whether military college candidates or graduates of civil universities, according to the best international standards in terms of training plans, academic, sports preparation and other requirements of a modern policeman.
He added that the college, with the support of the Ministry of Interior, also undertakes the task of inculcating among the trainees and students, legal knowledge combined with police work skills with a distinguished cultural level and conscious awareness of the challenges of security work, to prepare generations of policemen equipped with modern functional skills and capabilities that help achieve interaction with society and its problems, and to enhance the ability to confront the world of crime, which has become dependent on using modern technological innovations, as tools that serve its goals and plans.
