62nd meeting of Arabosai Executive Council concludes

The 62nd meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI), hosted by the State Audit Bureau of Qatar over two days with the participation of the heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the Member States of the Executive Council, concluded on Tuesday. It discussed many important issues on its agenda.HE the President of the State Audit Bureau and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Arabosai, Sheikh Bandar bin Mohamed bin Saud al-Thani, said that the frank discussions and the exchange of constructive views enabled the council to come up with a number of decisions and recommendations to advance the organisation's work and enhance its efforts in developing the audit work at the level of the Arab world.He added that the organisation, thanks to the concerted efforts of all, including the General Secretariat, "enabled us to turn challenges into opportunities, as we succeeded in developing the appropriate mechanisms to limit the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the work of the organisation through the development of many pioneering initiatives that will contribute to the development of the institutional and professional capabilities of the various member audit institutions."Members of the Executive Council praised the great support provided by the State Audit Bureau to Arabosai, pointing out that the development projects and initiatives prepared by the State Audit Bureau and approved by the council will contribute to activating the organisation's work mechanisms and enhancing its efforts to improve the performance of Arab audit institutions.During the meeting, the council approved a package of development initiatives prepared by the State Audit Bureau.A proposal to sign an MoU with the Arab League's Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (Alecso) was also approved, with the aim of benefiting from the experience of the organisation in implementing the programmes of Arabosai related to sustainable development goals in the fields of education, culture and science. The council approved the final account for 2020 and the estimated budget for 2021.
