Diaspora of Malappuram (DoM Qatar), an association of expatriates from Malappuram district in Kerala,India, recently organised a blood donation drive and medical seminar.
The blood donation drive was held at the Hamad Medical Corporation blood bank. Dr Shafeeq Thappil Mambad and Dr Thasnim led the seminar.
Indian Cultural Center president, P N Baburajan, inaugurated the function and DoM Qatar president, Mashood V C, chaired the event.
The welcome speech was given by DoM acting general secretary Shanavas Tharayil and the vote of thanks by Keshava Das Nilamboor. DoM chief co-ordinator Usman Kallan and patrons Rauf Kondotty and Hyder Chungatara also spoke at the meeting.
DoM Qatar officials: P Sreedar, Dr V V Hamza Alswaidi, Balakrishnan Mannanchery, Basheer Kuniyil, Ratheesh Kakkove, C P Harishankar, Sidique Vazakad, Noufal Katupara, Anees C K, Irfan Khalid, Niyaz Palapetty, and Sivadas provided necessary support for the blood donation campaign.
DoM women wing chairperson Rasiya Usman, acting general secretary Sakey Jaleel, financial co-ordinator Nabsha Usman, and executive member Preethi Sreedar also represented and co-ordinated the event. The wing was formed recently.
Around 100 people from different parts of Qatar attended the humanitarian event.
Indian Community Benevolent Forum president Ziyad Usman, ICC member Anees George Thomas and Indian Sports Center member K V Bobban also attended the camp.
Mashood V C received the appreciation certificate from Hamad officials.
