An Amiri Air Force plane belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces arrived Thursday at Rafic Hariri International Airport carrying 70 tonnes of food products — the first shipment of food aid provided by Qatar to the army of the Lebanese Republic. Receiving the first shipment was a delegation from the Lebanese army leadership that included Staff Brigadier General Ali Shareef representing Commander of the Lebanese Armed General Joseph Aoun, and a number of diplomats at the Embassy of Qatar to the Lebanese Republic. Qatar had earlier announced to support the Lebanese army with 70 tonnes of food products a month for a year, as part of its efforts and firm commitment to support the Lebanese Republic and people, in addition to its belief in the importance of activating joint Arab work.
