The Ministry of Interior and the embassy of Bangladesh jointly organised on July 11, the second episode of the webinar series for the Bangladeshi community living in Qatar via Zoom.
Bangladesh's ambassador to Qatar, Md Jashim Uddin, was present on the occasion as chief guest. In his introductory remarks, the ambassador said a number of dimensions have been added to the conventional concept of security. He urged all to be aware of cyber security, stressing that awareness means to understand whether someone is being cheated and taking precautions accordingly.First-Lieutenant Ahmed al-Thani, an official of Qatar's Economic and Cyber Crimes Prevention Department, made a presentation titled 'Financial and Cyber Crimes and Measures of Prevention'. In the presentation, he discussed types of cyber crime, punishments and ways to prevent them. About 400 expatriate Bangladeshis, officials from the Bangladesh embassy and the Interior Ministry, and leaders of the Bangladesh community took part in the event.
