DPS Modern Indian School witnessed a number of cultural and literary activities as part of Rendezvous 2021, the inter-house cultural competitions of the Junior School. The events were held from June 3 to June 22.
Competitions in various events were conducted live virtually via the Teams platform.
Despite being conducted virtually, the students of grades III-V were brimming with enthusiasm. Participants were all geared up to enthrall the audience with their dynamic performances.
In the Junk Art category, students of grade III showcased their talent by making beautiful paintings on an old newspaper using their imagination and creativity.
Students of grade IV left everyone awe-struck by presenting creative costumes that were made using recycled materials like newspaper, polythene bags, paper plates, etc, in the Fancy Dress competition.
Grade V students gave the best form to their aesthetic sense and constructively expressed their ideas by making beautiful home décor items using old CDs, broken bangles, shells, plastic bottles, etc.
"The zeal, with which the students participated in the event and displayed their unique talents, was commendable. They proved how we could transform 'Trash to Treasure and Bin to Beauty'," the school said in a statement.
The English Literary competition consisted of Story World (storytelling) - fairytale for grade III, storytelling using finger puppets for grade IV and Roll-a-story for grade V, as well as Poetry out loud (poetry recitation) and Speak-a-thon (elocution).
The competitions provided the students with the right opportunity and inspired them to come forward, participate and exhibit their talent and confidence.
The variety of activities, such as colour sketching, clay creations, puppet making, bouquet making, solo singing, solo dance, etc, provided a "spectacular show of healthy competition, spontaneity and exuberance".
The event saw active participation from all the four houses - Rose, Lily, Tulip and Lotus - in all the cultural competitions.
