The Qatar Racing Limited-owned Future opened her account in style when taking the Fitzdares Supports The British Racing School Fillies’ Novice Stakes at Windsor Racecourse on Monday.
Future is trained by John and Thady Gosden, and was fourth on her racecourse debut at Chelmsford last month before progressing well to finish second at Windsor two weeks later. With experience standing her in good stead, Future then returned to Windsor to get off the mark on her third start, under jockey Oisin Murphy.
Breaking alertly from the stalls, Future tucked in behind early leader Royal Harmony and settled well. Future was asked to take closer order 600m from home and moved through to lead against the rail. Inside the final 400m Future travelled strongly but faced challenges from both Crystal Starlet and Thefastnthecurious. Thefastnthecurious hung violently left inside the final 200m, allowing Future to gallop to a comfortable three-quarters-of-a-length success.
Bred by Sweetmans Bloodstock, Future is by recently deceased stallion Galileo. Her dam Question Times was a winner over 1,200m and has produced black-type performers Latrobe, winner of the Group One Irish Derby, Pink Dogwood Listed winner and Group One placed, and also Diamond Fields, a Group Three winner at Naas.
