Qatar Charity (QC), in co-operation with Qatar University (QU), will organise the Humanitarian Work Forum 2021 on August 18 and 19 to mark World Humanitarian Day.
The forum, considered to be the first initiative of its kind in Qatar as it contains an important educational and cognitive effort, will be attended by an elite group of specialists, experts, and guests from and outside Qatar.
The event will shed light on the challenges facing humanitarian organisations, their workers, and volunteers, as it seeks to find solutions and to follow the best means and safest methods to deliver humanitarian services globally, and achieve the goals with minimal effort, and lowest material and human costs.
According to QC, the forum aims to contribute in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of providing humanitarian services through partnerships in humanitarian work and harnessing innovation and technological development. It is also keen in helping to further improve sustainable funding for humanitarian organisations, participation, and localisation of aid, building local capacities, and exchanging experiences.
The forum will tackle topics such as partnerships and the role of technology in developing humanitarian and volunteer work, as well as training humanitarian workers. It will also provide an opportunity to engage volunteers and benefit from their capabilities (working as a team).
Faisal Rashid al-Fehaida, CEO's assistant for the Programmes and Community Development sector at QC, said in a press statement that the Humanitarian Work Forum 2021 is a platform for participants to identify and discuss the challenges they face and how to overcome them as humanitarian organisations, aid workers and volunteers.
He added that such event provides an opportunity to share experiences in a way that enhances abilities to develop a roadmap that contributes towards delivering aid more efficiently and effectively, empowering those who need assistance and achieving the greatest impact for them.
He said the youth will have the chance to learn from the experience and expertise of key stakeholders in humanitarian work through the discussions at the forum. He lauded the efforts of youth volunteer teams in the preparation of the event with vigor and dedication.
