Qatar-based Filipino electrical engineers with professional working experience went through an online interview process to apply for the Asean Chartered Professional Engineer Register (ACPER).
Some 35 members of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, State of Qatar Chapter (IIEE-SQC) attended the first-ever online ACPE interview with a panel of experts, which was facilitated by the Professional Regulation Commission via the International Affairs Office in Manila.
The PRC chairs the Asean Monitoring Committee on Engineering Services in the Philippines (AMCESP) with its nominated panel of experts.
A professional engineer who is a citizen of an Asean member country and has all the credentials to comply with the requirements specified in the Assessment Statement may apply for ACPER) and is accorded the ACPE title.
An ACPE who wishes to provide professional engineering services in any participating Asean country must register to the PRC through AMCESP to be eligible as a Registered Foreign Professional Engineer (RFPE).
IIEE-SQC, which has been providing mentoring programmes to its professional members, noted that the latest batch of ACPE applicants from Qatar would “once again bring the torch for producing the highest number of ACPE in electrical engineering, both in the Philippines and foreign regions.”
The successful three-day online ACPE interview was supported by IIEE-SQC president Rudilyn S Reyes, ACPE-AER committee chaired by Erwin S Peniones, adviser Robert U Mabulay; board of directors, and former presidents and advisers, through their untiring support and guidance from start to finish.
IIEE-SQC initiated the hosting of virtual conferment ceremonies for Asean engineers, emulated by other engineering disciplines and showcased the event during the mid-term meeting of Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last month.
