Customs foils attempt to smuggle hashish

The Al Ruwais Customs in Maritime Customs Administration has foiled yet another attempt to smuggle hashish into the country. The General Authority of Customs (GAC), through its official website, said that narcotic substance weighing 76kg was hidden inside a diesel tank. The smuggler and the contraband were transferred to the security authorities concerned. The GAC reiterated that every effort is made at the sea, air, and land ports to detect and thwart all attempts to undermine the security of the country, as well as to ensure cooperation and coordination with the relevant agencies in order to combine efforts to curb drug smuggling.
