The fifth edition of S'hail Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition is set to conclude on Saturday after making a great success as a pioneering event considered the largest of its kind in Qatar, the region and the world.
A number of dignitaries, including diplomats, visited the event at Katara - The Cultural Village yesterday as well. Khalifa bin Sultan al-Hemaidi, member of the organising committee and the media spokesperson of S'hail 2021, said that the falcon auction is considered the most interesting part of the event for the public.
A total of 27 birds are on auction over the five days of the exhibition. There were two auctions on Katara platform with the first auction held on daily basis and results announced the same day. The second auction is for 22 Mongolian falcons which are on display throughout the event and the winners of the highest bids will be announced today.
The highest bid on Thursday was for QR666,000 on a type of a Mongolian falcon, while the highest bid on the second day amounted to QR336,000 on another type of Mongolian falcon.
The exhibitors have expressed their appreciation for the excellent organisation of the event and the increasing number of international companies participating, which reflects the steady progress of the event over the years.
