This semester a new undergraduate programme will complement the existing four programmes already well established at the campus.
The new programme, approved by HE Dr Mohammed Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, will launch this month and represents AFG’s fifth undergraduate degree offered since the College opened in 2017.
Continuing with the college’s thoughtful expansion through the provision of much needed multi-disciplinary offerings, the new MA (Hons) Business Management & Legal Studies, offers students a grounding in business, management and organisations within the context of the legal framework on which all businesses operate.
The new degree will equip successful students with the analytical and academic skills required for a head-start in international business and provides a meaningful pathway to a multitude of career options. AFG College’s specialist industry linkage group work closely with prospective employers ensuring future graduate opportunities are identified where possible.
Dr Fiona Robson, AFG College Head of Discipline for Business and Management noted
“We are excited to be launching this new programme in September where students will benefit from developing their expertise in both business management and legal studies, preparing them for a diverse range of careers. Over four years students will develop an excellent grounding across the subject areas as we bring theory and practice to life for them. The AFG team are looking forward to working with and inspiring the next generation of leaders in business and law in Doha”.
AFG College Principal Brian Buckley said;
“I am very much looking forward to welcoming back returning students and those new students’ who have opted to join us in pursuing one of programmes, that we offer here in Doha. As principal, I am conscious of our responsibilities in helping to shape future leaders, and believe that the new courses will augment those already being offered. With increasing demand for new programmes, we are constantly adapting and developing our offerings to help support HH the Amir’s vision for a knowledge-based economy. The new Business Management & Legal Studies programme adopts an interdisciplinary approach which takes into consideration the demands placed on graduates by employers to develop a broader range of transferable skills, which students will benefit from when entering the workplace.”
