The field teams of Qatar Charity (QC) in Sudan, with the support of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), provided urgent food aid to those affected by the floods and rains in Umm Al-Qura locality of El Gezira state, in coordination with the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Sudan. The aid included 1,000 food baskets to benefit6,000 affected people.

HE Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Kuwari, Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development, praised the efforts made to deliver this aid to the beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of this aid and its role in mitigating this humanitarian catastrophe.

HE Abdulrahman bin Ali Al-Kubeisi, Ambassador of Qatar to Sudan, said that this aid comes as an extension of the great humanitarian efforts that have been carried out by Qatar Charity in Sudan, where Qatar, and Qatar Charity in particular, had significantly supported those affected by the last year’s floods.

Gezira State Wali (governor) Dr. Abdullah Idris Al-Kinain praised the aid provided by Qatar Charity with the support of QFFD to those affected by the recent heavy rains and flooding in Sudan, thanking Qatar Charity that always supports the vulnerable in the country. 

He also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Qatari government for standing with the Sudanese people in all adversities and calamities.

Sudan Humanitarian Aid commissioner Najm al-Din Moussa praised the efforts of the State of Qatar, the Qatari people, the Qatar Fund for Development, and Qatar Charity, appreciating Qatari significant support for the Sudanese people in their adversities. 

Many beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Emir, government and people of Qatar, the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity for delivering food aid to them. They hoped for more support to rebuild the destroyed infrastructure, schools, health centers and water sources.
