TotalEnergies and Qatari Autism Society have started a new collaboration in order to support members with autism through organising more socially inclusive events.
This partnership was kickstarted through customised visits for the society members and their families to discover Mal Lawal 3 exhibition and other cultural exhibitions at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) in September.
The exhibitions shed light on the nation’s rich heritage and culture, and provide a vibrant and immersive space, so that diverse communities can come together and experience Qatar’s past, present and future.
Umm Jassim, a parent of a child with autism who attended the visit, said: “I would like thank TotalEnergies, Qatar Autism Society and National Museum of Qatar for providing us with the opportunity of this interesting visit. Our children have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of discovering their heritage as well as participating and contributing according to their abilities.
"We are optimistic that our youth will get more chances to learn about their history and traditions, and we look forward to more such organised activities in the future."
The initiative comes as TotalEnergies is committed to various pillars of sustainable development, arched on efforts to promote social inclusion for all, a press statement notes.
Following the visit, Matthieu Bouyer, managing director of TotalEnergies EP Qatar and country chair, said: “ Our goal is to support our host community through initiatives that benefit all members of the society. We are delighted to do our part to help youth discover Qatar’s rich culture through NMoQ’s exhibitions, which are dedicated to telling the unique story of Qatar’s heritage and its people.
