QLC concludes learning journey to Boston

Qatar Leadership Centre’s (QLC) Executive Leadership Programme participants recently completed their educational trip to Boston, Massachusetts, US. The academic module, “Innovation and Change,” was designed by QLC's academic partner, Harvard Business School.

"The designed modules and face-to-face meetings with decision makers and high-level figures in various fields of business, as well as the workshops, allow our participants to observe best practices and gain insights on global experiences at the practical level that are complementary to their respective programmes,” said Dr Ahmed A al-Kuwari, general manager of QLC.Held at Harvard Business School, the programme examined critical topics, such as innovation processes, scaling innovation for growth, and transformational leadership for turbulent times. “This trip to Harvard Business School is very important for our participants’ leadership acumen, with the module conducted by a specialised academic team. The focus was on crisis management, creating a team culture through leadership, design thinking, and creative and change leadership, which are essential concepts for today's leaders," remarked, Nasreen Mohamed al-Malek, acting director of Programmes at QLC.Aside from these lectures, the participants also attended a series of seminars with senior Massachusetts government leaders from diverse areas including international trade and industry, and housing and economic development.Distinguished academic and industry figures also met with the participants, including senior officials from Tufts University; University of Massachusetts Dartmouth; leading construction companies; women’s policy initiatives; sustainability officers from government and the private sector; as well as government affairs officials from General Electric, and MIT Engines. The trip's agenda included a meeting with a group of senior executives from Massachusetts General Brigham who shared best practice in the field of medical service and healthcare. The participants also met with Matt O’Malley, president of the Boston City Council, who shared the city’s experience in sustainable development, clean energy, and public health projects.In addition, the group made a field visit to Indigo Ag Inc., a startup specialising in sustainable agricultural technology, where they learned of their work in soil reclamation and support for sustainable farmers.
