DPS-Modern Indian School (DPS-MIS) honoured the sterling performance of its meritorious students at an award ceremony (2020-21), organised on a virtual platform on October 4.
The occasion was graced by chief guest Dr Deepak Mittal, the Indian ambassador to Qatar, school president Hassan Chougule and distinguished members of the DPS-MIS executive committee.
The highlights of the grade XII and X results were presented by Rakhi Mishra, academic co-ordinator - grade XI and XII, and Vijayshree Nair, academic co-ordinator - grade IX and X.
Nihit Agarwal , the school topper in grade XII , secured the position of 'Qatar Topper' in the science stream with a score of 99%.
In grade X, DPS-MIS school toppers Gouthami Gireesh Varma and Theertha Aravind earned the title of Qatar Toppers and well as Gulf Toppers with 99.8%.
School principal Asna Nafees congratulated the star performers and commended the efforts of teachers and parents in "achieving these heights in spite of the unprecedented times", a press statement noted.
Dr Mittal inspired the students with his words of wisdom and advised them to aim higher, remain virtuous, and contribute to achieve the dream of 'New India' and a more sustainable world while building the world of their dreams.
A total of 325 students were awarded trophies and merit certificates for their exceptional academic performance, while four toppers, two each from grades X and XII, were honoured with the Kanjani Toppers Award for "academic genius and stupendous board results", the statement added.
